What is Chets in London?
It is a new circle of support bringing our gifted musicians from Chetham’s in Manchester to London to share their musical talents with members regularly. As a member, it will give you the chance to experience exceptional recitals and to go behind-the-scenes as we arrange private evenings which will help you to understand how the incredible music you are hearing is created, how our young musicians achieve the sounds and techniques that they do, and how they make that leap from being a young student with potential into becoming a mature and accomplished musician.
What are the benefits and the donation requirements of Chets in London?
The ‘club’ is very much about supporting Chetham’s School of Music, and for membership of Chets in London we ask for £1,000 per year:
- Invitation to private receptions attached to key concerts – in London and nationwide - including ad hoc behind-the-scenes events, such as hearing works in progress, talks from leading artists, meeting the performers, and bespoke opportunities to get involved
- The opportunity to bring guests to selected Chets in London events
- An exclusive annual Chets in London thank you event (in unique London venue)
- Reciprocal relationship with The Humphrey Chetham Club – invitation to Manchester events and broad circle of contacts
Chetham’s event guide and newsletters - Annual funding update from the chairperson
Who are its members?
Chets in London is a network of supporters from diverse walks of life. At Chets in London events, you will meet professional musicians, city bankers, record producers, classical and jazz music enthusiasts, and many more, in a room filled with people from a rich mixture of backgrounds. They have one thing in common: they are all united by their love of music, and belief in supporting the musicians of the future in order to sustain the rich musical culture of the UK and beyond, for many generations to come.
How will joining the Club offer support?
Your support will be an invaluable contribution to Chetham's School of Music, enabling us to offer our students the best support possible in a variety of ways, such as helping to fund special projects, musical performances, participation in the most highly regarded competitions essential for our students' musical development, and overall to enable Chetham's to make an ever larger contribution to the cultural community, here in the UK, and across the world.
