Music Technology

Music Technology Pro-Tools HD Recording StudioThe Music Technology Department is a fast growing area within the School. The AS and A-Level courses cover a full range of topics, including recording techniques, sequencing, sampling, synthesis, arranging and composition. Students study and work with a range of musical genres from classical through to jazz and popular music, and in addition develop skills in analysing and composing music for film and television.

The Department has recently moved into purpose-built facilities. All recording studios are based on industry-standard Pro Tools HD systems. The main studio features a 32-fader Digidesign ICON D-Control console with two further mixdown suites both housing 24-fader Digidesign ICON D-Command consoles. In addition, there is a MIDI suite equipped with 12 custom built PC workstations running Cubase and Sibelius software.
