I love living in Girls’ House. Since my first day I have felt welcomed and, despite initially being in an unfamiliar environment, at home. The house-assistants are lovely, and always willing to talk, whether just for a chat or about something more serious. Although there is generally a relaxed atmosphere, it is also easy to work when we need to – particularly as if we get stuck we can nearly always find someone who is doing the same prep (homework).
I feel that since I came to Chet’s (3 years ago) I have matured as a person, and I think that the influence of Girls’ House has helped in this respect. It promotes independence in a safe environment, teaching the students to think for themselves while still structuring our day. The time I have spent in Girls’ House has contained some of the best experiences of my life, and I wish I wasn’t leaving next year!
