Staff Farewells

On our final day of the School year it is only right that way say a fond farewell and a big 'Thank you' to a number of staff who are leaving Chets at this time.

Musically, first and foremost, accompanist Max Ritchie, leaves Chetham’s after an extremely long and successful career here.  Mr Ritchie is in fact is something of a legend here at school and will be much missed, as he has influenced many generations of young instrumentalists in his care.  We wish him every happiness in his retirement.

Philip Sanderson moves on to be Director of Music at King’s School, Tynemouth and Simon Jacobs is undertaking an international exchange with a colleague in an Australian school in Melbourne.

In their place will come, respectively, Ms Elena Nalimova, Miss Claire Campbell Smith and Mr Geoff Hayhow.

Mr Curtis, as Concerts Administrator and Boys’ House Assistant, leaves us after a full decade of highly successful service to the School.  He recently got married and is seeking pastures new to join his new wife in Shropshire.

We say goodbye also to Miss Jackson and Mr Franks and thank them for their excellent service as House Assistants.

Mrs Stuckey, the Music Timetabler, goes on Maternity Leave.

To one and all, I’m sure you will join me in wishing them every happiness in the next stage of their lives.
