Former Student gains Principal position

Adam WalkerWe are pleased to share the news that Adam Walker, a student at Chetham's until 2004 has recently been offered the position of Principal Flute with the London Symphony Orchestra at the age of 21 years.  

This year Adam received the ‘Outstanding Young Artist Award’ at the MIDEM Classique Awards in Cannes, in partnership with the International Artist Managers’ Association. As a result of this he has been invited to appear as soloist with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra at the Konzerthaus and with the Solistes Europeens at the Philharmonie in Luxembourg.  He has also appeared as soloist with the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields at the Barbican’s Mostly Mozart Festival, the Hallé Orchestra at Bridgewater Hall, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at Cadogan Hall, and with the City of Birmingham and Bournemouth Symphony Orchestras.
