Chetham's Head Awarded Region's Biggest Honour

Chetham’s Head, Claire Moreland, has been awarded one of the region’s biggest honours in becoming a Deputy Lieutenant for Greater Manchester.  The role will see Claire representing the region at key events, including hosting Royalty.

Claire has been Head of Chetham's since 1999 and during her tenure so far, she has led an ambitious project which has transformed the world-renowned Music School through a major capital development project, a £31m new School Building, that will also add to the cultural offering of the city.

On the announcement of the new Deputy Lieutenants earlier this month, Warren Smith, Lord-Lieutenant of Greater Manchester said “The new Deputy Lieutenants have been chosen for their endeavours over many years working to enhance the fabric of Greater Manchester.”

Claire Moreland has said: "It is an enormous honour to have been chosen as a Deputy Lieutenant and I will continue to do my utmost to represent the region in every way I can."
