Young Chetham's Composer Lands BBC Prize

Talented Chetham’s School of Music student, Jonathan Woolgar has won the top prize at the BBC Proms Inspire Young Composers' Competition. Now in its twelfth year, this prestigious competition attracted hundreds of entries from young composers aged 12 to 18.
Oh We Do Like To Cycle To The Seaside!

Seven staff from Chetham’s School of Music got on their bikes to take part in the Manchester to Blackpool cycle this weekend to raise money for the ‘Cycle For Chets’ challenge. The challenge, for staff, students and their families to cycle a collective 50,000 miles to raise £50,000, is part of the School’s ‘Raise the Roof’ appeal to raise £1million towards the New School Building.
Yamaha Competition Results

On Monday, thirty six pianists from Chetham’s took part in the Yamaha Piano Competition , which was generously funded by Yamaha-Kemble. The panel of Bryce Morrison, Ghiyas Ali and Kumi Liley were very impressed with the overall standard.
