Yi Xin Salvage

Yi Xin studied Double Bass and gained her BA degree at the central Conservatoire of Music in Beijing China and furthered her studies at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester UK under Rodney Slatford and Duncan McTier. She was awarded several prizes for her Double Bass playing at college and was semi-finalist at the Munich International Music Competition in 1985. She has also been tutored by Klaus Stoll ( Berlin) and David Walter ( New York).

Yi Xin joined the Halle Orchestra in 1986 and has since toured extensively in the UK and abroad, performing in all the major cities, and has made many recordings with the Halle and also the London Symphony Orchestra. She has also worked with the BBC Philharmonic and various other orchestras.
