Christian Immler

Christian Immler studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London with Rudolf Piernay, won the International Nadia et Lili Boulanger Competition in Paris in 2001 and has since worked as a soloist with major orchestras and conductors all over the world.

Concert highlights over the last year have included Pilate/bass solos St. John Passion for Collegium Vocale Gent, conducted by Philippe Herreweghe, in London, Bruges and the Lincoln Center New York, Haydn’s The Seasons with Orchestre de Picardie, Bach’s St. Matthew Passion and the Fauré Requiem with the Ensemble Vocale de Lausanne and Haydn’s Creation with the New Haifa Symphony Orchestra.

Recent operatic projects have included Förster Das Schlaue Füchslein for the Wiener Kammeroper, UbaldeArmide by Gluck at New Israeli Opera, Testo Il Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda Monteverdi & Father Die Sieben Todsünden Weill for Lautten Compagney, Claudio Béatrice et Bénédict Berlioz at Opéra Comique Paris and David & Jonathas Charpentier for Les Arts Florissants conducted by William Christie.

Christian has made his debut at the Wigmore Hall, the Linbury Theatre (Royal Opera House) and the Royal Festival Hall in London, the Frick Collection in New York, the Salon d’Honneur in Paris and the Jewish Museum in Vienna (for the Wiener Festwochen).

His recordings include cantatas by Stölzel, as well as the “Continental Britons” on Nimbus, both released in 2004 to wide critical acclaim and Albeniz’ Henry Clifford with the Orquesta Sinfonica de Madrid for Decca.

Christian also teaches voice at Leeds College of Music and Royal Holloway, University of London from where he holds a Master’s degree in musicology.
