Sharon Gould
Sharon Gould read music at Cambridge and studied harpsichord at the Royal College of Music, London, and later with Rafael Puyana in Paris. She has performed extensively as harpsichord soloist and chamber musician throughout Europe. She first visited the United States as a Winston Churchill Memorial Trust Fellow and has since broadcast and toured there many times. London appearances include recitals and concertos at the Purcell Room, Wigmore and Queen Elizabeth Halls and St. John’s, Smith Square. In addition to radio broadcasts, she has appeared on television in England and Spain. Her harpsichord recordings include one given a Spanish Government award for ‘Contribution of Most Cultural Importance’.
Sharon formed her first Baroque orchestra at the age of fourteen and has since conducted many orchestras, often directing from the harpsichord. She is an examiner for the Associated Board and is harpsichord tutor and Baroque chamber music coach at Chethams School for musically gifted children in Manchester.
